About the Artist
I studied at the Philadelphia College of Art and received my BFA at York University in Toronto. I was a successful Conceptual and Installation artist in the late 70s in Canada. After a significant hiatus as breadwinner for my family, I reopened my studio in 2018 in Takoma Park. In 2019, I completed a juried residency at Cuttyhunk, MA, as well as several continuing education courses at the New York Academy of Art in 2020 - 2022.
I am now best known for her landscapes in oil, mostly of vistas in Iceland. My travel photography acts as the springboard for my compositions. Takoma Park affords me easy access to the beauty of Sligo Creek Park. I have done tree portraits based on photography there.
Over the last five years, my work has appeared in numerous juried group exhibits, and I was designated as one of the 'Artists to Follow in 2021', an international juried exhibit, by Michael Rose Fine Art. In 2021 I had a solo show of my work at the New York Artists Equity Gallery. In 2022, my work also appeared in a juried exhibit at the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art.
My paintings and drawings are in private collections in the US, Spain, Denmark, Norway and Iceland.
In October of 2023, I had a tree portrait in the prestigious fundraiser, 'Take Home a Nude' exhibit for the New York Academy of Art in conjunction with Sotheby's, NYC, NY.
