Sara Daines

About the Artist

Street art can be viewed as an act of vandalism or one of the more honest forms of art. I continue to be amazed by the beauty you can discover in the most unexpected of places.

Sara has been taking photos since she could hold a Brownie and fondly remembers spending time with her dad in the dark room. There she learned the “rule of thirds” and discovered that she is just not that good at landscape photography though she loved taking pictures. Her free time is spent camera in hand, exploring the back streets and alleys of cities large and small. The result has been an eclectic assortment of images of graffiti, street scenes, and architectural details from across the world.

Prior to her involvement with the ARTery, Sara was instrumental in the development of the City of Takoma Park’s cultural programming and the formation of the Arts and Humanities Commission. Her photographs have been exhibited at various venues in Maryland and Wisconsin.
